The longest-living of our Shiraz wines wear the ‘Black Hinge’ label with pride. We do not make a Black Hinge every year. Nature plays her role in determining how often a wine makes the style and grade we seek. Powerful and rich, yet balanced, in ripeness, alcohol, and oak. The 2022 vintage is one to cellar, having terrific structure and is rich in spices, it will last the test of time. 

Tasting Notes

Vintage 2022 was excellent! Early ripening, great weather, small berries, and exceptional colour…made the process easy, resulting in a deeply coloured batch of fruit with strong tannins and intense flavour. It is concentrated, dense, rich in spices, and berry fruits leaving you with a luscious lingering mouth feel from every sip. It will reward the consumer with drinking pleasure for more than a decade.
